
Our story so far…
How it all started
Our founders started their wholesale food supply business on Regent Street in Cambridge nearly 40 years ago, supplying local companies with quality fresh produce.
In 2002, they moved to St Neots, delivering fruit, vegetables and cheese regionally from a purpose-built refrigerated warehouse. In 2007, the business was sold to a national food-service company.
This experience enhanced our founders’ understanding of the operations and structure of a larger business, including valuable insights into the procurement process.

2014—the year of change
In 2014, they left the national business to establish Kale & Damson. While the previous business was fulfilling, they were eager to return to their roots—championing exceptional quality food from passionate growers and producers. This move allowed them to blend the expertise of operating on a national scale with the personalised ethos of a small, customer-focused business.

Today, we serve premium establishments with an appreciation for quality, including hotels, restaurants, gastro pubs, event caterers, conference centres, colleges and private schools.
We pride ourselves on being a people business. We like to meet the chefs and build strong working relationships with growers. Our team champions British products, while also sourcing delicious cheeses from France and Italy.
Our priority has always been the quality of taste and flavour, ensuring every product meets the highest standards. We are equally committed to providing a consistent and reliable supply for our customers, building trust through exceptional service.
